This document will teach you how to apply a cumulative hotfix/oneoff. It applies to 12.0 and newer (in prior versions you also had to download the client files separately).
In the Client Management console, browse to the Operational Rules node.
- Prepare your update to a new cumulative hotfix (OneOff)
- Click here to know where to find the cumulative hotfixes and how to download them.
- Copy the downloaded file a temporary directory on your master server and extract it.
- Run the upgrade installer (upgrade.exe for Windows, linux-master-upgrade.sh for 32 bit Linux, or linux64-master-upgrade.sh for 64-bit Linux).
- If you have enabled the Automatic Agent Version Upgrade option (under Global Settings > System Variables > Connection Management), your client devices will be updated with this HotFix automatically. This process may take a few days as clients check into their relays. Otherwise, please go to Operational Rules > Client Management OneOff, and assign the operational rules as described below:
NOTE: These upgrade operational rules are intended to be run on clients only. Do not attempt to assign these operational rules to the master server.
- 32 bit Linux systems with the Client Management 12.7 client should be assigned to the rule named "LinuxOneOff"
- 64 bit Linux systems with the Client Management 12.7 client should be assigned to the rule named "Linux64OneOff"
- 64 bit Windows systems with the Client Management 12.7 client should be assigned to the rule named "Win64OneOff"
- 32 bit Windows systems with the Client Management 12.7 client should be assigned to the rule named "Win32OneOff"
- Mac OS X systems with the Client Management 12.7 client should be assigned to the rule named "MacOSXOneOff"
If the client update operational rules were not created, please follow the steps below to import them:
- Go to this procedure again: Prepare your update to a new cumulative hotfix (OneOff)
- If you don't manage to delete some of these files you should probably read the KA 000122597.
- Delete the content from the folder ../master/upgrade/packages in the master installation folder
- Go to the folder where you extracted the upgrade installer files, then extract the folder ..\upgrade\files.zip\upgrade\packages\. It should contain several zip files for the clients OR and packages: linux.zip, linux64.zip, macosx.zip, winnt.zip, winx64.zip
- Copy these files to the master installation folder ../master/upgrade/packages
- In the Client Management console, click Tools > "Create Upgrade Packages" (or restart the service of the master, it should generate them as well)
NOTE: Starting from 12.0 you will not find the client patches on EPD anymore as they are already included in the zip of the master files.
