When trying to upgrade to AR System 9.x or applying any SP/Patch in 9.x having JAVA 8 Update 101: jre1.8.0_101 the following error is displayed: .............................. Invalid 64-bit JRE version. Select version 1.8 with patch 45 or later. If the correct version is not installed on your system, click Previous to return to the feature selection screen, install JRE 1.8 with patch 45 or later, and continue. Invalid 32-bit JRE version. Select version 1.8 with patch 45 or later. If the correct version is not installed on your system, click Previous to return to the feature selection screen, install JRE 1.8 with patch 45 or later, and continue. .............................. This behavior has been reported in the below defects depending of the 9 version: Version 9.0.x : SW00514204 - Remedy 9.x installers not recognizing Java 8 Update 101 as a valid version: jre1.8.0_101 Version 9.1.x : SW00513409 - AR platform installer 91 does not support java 1.8 update 102 SW00513924 - AR cannot be installed with java version more than 100 When Java is upgraded, the new updates containing 3 digits in their version string (i.e.jre1.8.0_101) it is not recognized by the AR System installer throwing the error. The defects are addressed and solved in 9.1 SP2 but if SP2 is not installed: Workaround: Revert JAVA back to an earlier version, for example JAVA 8 update 72 (any which update's string version contains 2 digits) and make sure the Java Auto-Update is disabled. Note: This problem is observed when running the AR System installer having the mentioned Java versions already installed. If the ARSystem is already installed and Java is upgraded then this problem is not related. This is reported a behavior observed in the ARSystem's installer only, not the application itself.
