- If a Support Central profile has not yet been created, Click Here to open the BMC customer orientation checklist document and follow the 'Create a BMC Account' link under the "02: Get access to BMC resources" section.
Note: You can add your support ID and Pin during account creation, or after the account has been created. To add the support contract information after your account is created, please follow step 2.
- Once your profile is created, you will need to add your Support ID to your profile. Click Here to open the BMC customer orientation checklist document and follow the 'Add your Support ID(s) to you BMC Account' link under "03: Get support for your purchased products" section.
Upgrade you License to Footprints 12.
- Go to the https://license.bmc.com/
- Click the Login link on the right-hand side.
- Click on the My Support link on the top left and select License and Passwords.
- Click the Client Management, FootPrints and Track-It! Licensing link to jump to this section and click the Access you Product Licenses link.
- Locate your FootPrints 11 serial number and click the 'arrow' icon in the 'Upgrade' column to generate your new FootPrints 12 serial number/license.
Download the FootPrints Service Core Software and Documentation
- Go to the https://license.bmc.com/
- Click the Login link on the right-hand side.
- Click on the Downloads & Products link on the top left and select Downloads.
- Complete the 'Export Compliance And Access Terms' form and click 'Continue'.
- The page will load to show you your licensed Products.
- Locate and expand the FootPrints product name, then expand the needed FootPrints version.

NOTE: Be sure to select the correct Full Installer or Update Installer for your platform, database and bitness (32 or 64-bit).

- Copy the full installer or upgrade installer file to the server where FootPrints Service Core will be installed, or where it is currently installed. For Unix/Linux systems, place the file in a temporary directory (such as a sub-directory under your home directory or other location). For Windows systems, place the file in a location where the path does not contain space characters.
- For Unix/Linux systems, unpack the file and view the README files for installation/upgrade instructions. For Windows systems, execute the downloaded file to begin the installation/upgrade.
License the FootPrints Service Core Installation
- If you are installing FootPrints Service Core 11.x for the first time, upon logging into FootPrints Service Core, a 9 character license code will be displayed. If you already have FootPrints Service Core installed, you can find your 9 character license code under Administration | System | License.
- Remain on this page without navigating away from it until the license key is applied.
- To retrieve the license string from the Support site, go to the https://license.bmc.com/.
- Click the Login link on the right-hand side.
- Click on the My Support link on the top left and select License and Passwords.
- Click the Client Management, FootPrints and Track-It! Licensing link to jump to this section and click the Access you Product Licenses link.
- Locate your FootPrints 11 serial number and click the icon in the 'License' column.
- You will be prompted for the MAGIX code. This is the 9-character code generated by your FootPrints installation. Enter this code in the box and click Ok
- Copy the license string and paste it into the License string field, found under Administration | System | License in FootPrints Service Core, and then click GO. The FootPrints Service Core software is now licensed.
