BMC Smart Reporting Server (Tomcat) gets in a hung state |
This knowledge article may contain information that does not apply to version 21.05 or later which runs in a container environment. Please refer to Article Number 000385088 for more information about troubleshooting BMC products in containers. Tuning the Tomcat server configuration:
1. Stop the Smart Reporting service 2. Open the Command Prompt and navigate to the install directory as shown and run the command below:
-XX:MaxPermSize=256m
-XX:+UseCompressedOops
-XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError -XX:HeapDumpPath=C:\Program Files\BMC Software\ARSystem\SmartReporting\appserver\logs
5. Start the Smart Reporting services and proceed with application monitoring Note: This tuning process is iterative: monitor, adjust, monitor, compare, and validate improvements. This is a standard process for adjusting runtime behaviour |
